DIY Christmas Garland | Pleasantly Captured Photography
I sometimes believe that I am a little too crafty for my own good, meaning I start craft and realize that sometimes I might be in over my head! This holiday season, I wanted to limit the complicated crafts so I could enjoy them together with my little guy. One of our favorite crafts so far has been a simple DIY Christmas garland that can be used to decorate almost any space or used as a photo prop!
For this craft you will need the following:
- Needle
- Thread
- Scissors
- Decorative felt balls – I purchased my felt balls from Michael’s, but I am sure that you can find them at other local shop. You can even use cotton balls!
Next you simply just string them up, that simple right?! The needle I chose to use was sharp so my son wasn’t allowed to string them up, but we made a game out of it so he felt included. When I would thread the balls on, I would have him pull them to the end of the thread. I made it seem like a race which kept him engaged and from all the balls piling up on one end of the thread.
The photo to the right shows to variations that my son and I did. I love the gold, silver and white combination of colors and feel that it has more of a modern holiday feel to it. The traditional colors I loved as well and they even made it into a holiday milestone I photographed!
At the present moment, our traditional garland is being put to great use of the son’s little Christmas tree. We both love it!
This was a such a fun and easy craft that I believe anyone can enjoy, especially with small children. I hope you all enjoyed reading and please feel free to comment with your favorite holiday crafts or traditions. Thank you all for reading!
With Love,
