I’ve always wanted to help raise money for breast cancer research, and hoped that I would be able to with my love and appreciation of photography. Although I have not battled cancer directly, it has affected someone close to me. My Grandmother was diagnosed with cervical cancer in the early 90’s and again with breast cancer in 2000. If you know my grandmother personally, you know she is one tough cookie! Thankfully she has survived both bouts of cancer, but I know that is not always the case for all families.
Why nursing sessions you may ask? Well to me, there is nothing more beautiful than a mother nursing her child. I feel that nursing in public has been put into the taboo category, so I hope that these sessions brings more awareness to both causes. There will be a total of 3 sessions to cater to you and your child’s schedule. Two of the photo opportunities will be held outdoors, and the final shoot will be indoors for those who may feel more comfortable. No matter the location or date, half of the net proceeds will be donated to the Pretty in Pink Foundation that helps North Carolina residents with little or no insurance coverage to get the life saving treatment they need.
